We founded Henlays in 2020.
We designed the animal houses after gaining over a decade of experience supporting thousands of poultry keepers in South West, England. We were determined to use modern production methods and recycled plastic to make coops and kennels here in the UK that would last a lifetime. As a keen gardener and lover of all things quirky, Libby wanted to create something a bit magical that would inspire and provide a beautiful focal point.
Henlays tries very hard to use as many local services and products as possible. Consequently when you buy from Henlays, you're are supporting dozens of small businesses in and around Somerset, UK.
Henlays is passionate about being as kind to the planet as possible. All the coops are made in Somerset (not mass produced in the Far East) from 100% recycled plastic (not virgin polmer). All the waste from coop production is itself recycled into new recycled plastic products. We try hard to reuse all our packaging, so if you receive your purchases in 'interesting' boxes...now you know why!
Henlays is owned by Libby Syddall. Libby lives in the village of Baltonsborough, Somerset with her long suffering husband, Andy. They have 4 children. Two have fledged, one is about to jump and the youngest is fully wedged in the nest. They own 2 dogs, 2 cats and a menagerie of hens and ducks.
